Jennifer Frenz

Jennifer Frenz is a graduate of the Spiritual Direction Formation Program at Sacred Ground Center for Spirituality. She is a trained group facilitator with a Business degree from Purdue University. Jennifer is the mother of 3 adult children and has been happily married for 34 years. She is a member and volunteer at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Minneapolis.

Jennifer Frenz is open to receiving new spiritual directees at this time. She is available to meet in person at the Benedictine Center or virtually on Zoom.

Jennifer is a compassionate spiritual director focused on helping people deepen their relationship with God. As a person of faith, she has always felt called to serve others, and finds great joy in accompanying people on their spiritual journeys.

Jennifer’s approach to spiritual direction is deeply rooted in the teachings of Saints Ignatius and Benedict. She believes that God speaks to us through our experiences and that we can discern God’s will by paying attention to our thoughts, feelings, and desires. In spiritual direction, she encourages directees to cultivate a contemplative stance towards life, to listen for the movements of the Holy Spirit, and to discern how God is calling them to respond.

Jennifer has been trained in the art of spiritual conversation and in creating a safe and sacred space where people can share their deepest hopes and fears. She listens without judgment, asks probing questions, and offers gentle guidance and support. She encourages directees to trust their own inner wisdom and to develop a greater awareness of God’s presence in their lives.

As a practicing Catholic, Jennifer maintains deep respect for all spiritual seekers. Her clients come from a variety of backgrounds and faith traditions. She has companioned all ages, from college students to those nearing the end of life. Some are seeking guidance on major life decisions, while others are struggling with grief, doubt, or anxiety. Some are seeking to deepen their prayer life or discern their vocation, while others simply desire a deeper connection with God.

Through her own personal experience in spiritual direction, Jennifer writes “my life has been changed by my awareness of God in all things. Spiritual conversations and reflection have helped me to find God present in my ordinary life: in my time with friends, in nature, in service to others, and even in my suffering. I feel blessed to witness the transformative power of God’s love in the lives of directees and am humbled by the trust they place with me. I see my role as a companion on the journey, a guide who points the way but who ultimately trusts that God is the true director of our lives.”
