The demands of ministry and leadership can wear down the passion and our initial call to respond to the great needs of people and our communities. We may pause along our path and wonder how that spark dissipated.  It happens, for some in a blink of the eye and for others, it is over the long-haul. And yet we desire to replenish the underground springs of our own inner life. With no cookie-cutter response to this challenge, what are the practices of the spiritual and ministerial life that carry us back over the threshold of attention, receptivity and a transforming vision for our vocational call.  In what ways do they help us gather our soulful selves and continue to set our feet to this important path? Barbara Sutton has been Adjunct Professor of Theology at Saint John's School of Theology and Seminary (Collegeville, MN) since 2007 and served as a visiting scholar at the Benedictine Center during the 2017-2018 program year.
