Finding Rhythm in the Spiritual Life
With Amanda Berger
February 19 - 21, 2027
Many of us long for a more regular rhythm for deepening our Christian faith and which draws us into a closer relationship to God. However, despite our best efforts and most sincere desire, living in our modern world with all its demands and distractions can often keep us feeling out of step with the Holy Spirit. So how do we intentionally craft a life rhythm that honors both?
Drawing on St. Benedict’s Rule and ancient prayer practices of the church, join Amanda Berger for a weekend of instruction, conversation and reflection on crafting your own Rule of Life, a framework for living which centers our life with God and yet is still flexible enough to respond faithfully to the demands of our lives in the world.
In the retreat you will:
- Receive an introduction to St. Benedict and his monastic Rule (and why it is still helpful for us today!)
- Take time to reflect on your own values, responsibilities and calling, and how those commitments shape the rhythms of your life.
- Get curious in conversation with others about how we live a life of spiritual formation in our demanding, distracting world.
- Leave with a framework created just for YOU and your spiritual needs that honors your desire for growth and the demands of your life.
- Join in the rhythms of the monastery in daily prayer, communal meals, silence, and the liturgy of the hours.
- Have time to rest, reflect and be curious about how God is present to you.
