Submission/Approval Process
- Proposals to exhibit at St. Paul’s Monastery Gallery should be submitted prior to Feb. 15 of each year.
- A letter of acknowledgement will be sent to the artist.
- Between Feb. 15 and Mar. 15 of every year, the Art and Spirituality Team will review proposals and select four exhibits for at least the following 12 months.
- By Mar. 31, letters of acceptance andĀ regret will be sent to the artists.
A complete proposal will include
- Artist’s name and contact information
- A statement of up to 100 words describing the artist’s overall work.
- A proposal of up to 300 words describing how the proposed theme and medium contribute to the purposes of the spirituality and art exhibit program.
- At least one example of the works to be included. A link to an online gallery is preferred.
Criteria Used To Consider A Proposal
- The proposed exhibit reflects spiritual themes drawn from religious traditions, Scripture, nature, the human journey, and/or an interpretation of the mystery of life.
- The exhibit demonstrates artistic skill and ability.
- Because the exhibit is shown in a prominent public space that Sisters and guests use daily, the exhibit will enhance that space.
